MycorrPlus Crop Application Guidelines

Find practical rates, timing windows, and crop-specific starting points for applying MycorrPlus. For broader crop market resources, visit the USDA Economic Research Service.

Quick Rules

Tank Mix Volume

Use 20 gal/acre for broadcast, or 40+ gal/acre when no rain is expected.

Moisture Requirement

MycorrPlus performs best with at least one inch of soil moisture.

Chemical Separation

Wait at least 3 days after herbicides or other chemicals before applying.

General Guidelines

  • If rain or irrigation will carry product in within 24 hours, use a 10 gal/acre tank mix (or 3 gal/acre by plane).
  • Organic growers should use MycorrPlus-O instead of MycorrPlus-A.
  • After chemical applications, use 16-32 oz/acre of MycorrPlus-A and repeat monthly at 32 oz/acre when chemical use is ongoing.

Do not mix MycorrPlus with herbicides, fungicides, or insecticides.

Crop-Specific Starting Points

Pasture

  • Rate: 1 qt/acre once yearly; for faster results, use 64 oz/acre.
  • Timing: Any time of year.

Grass Hay

  • Rate: 1-2 qt/acre soil application.
  • Timing: If nitrogen is needed, apply with 28%/32% N or manure; for extra quality, foliar apply 2 qt/acre of MycorrPlus-F (or O-F) 7-10 days after cutting.

Alfalfa

  • Rate: 1-2 qt/acre.
  • Timing: Apply in fall, winter, or spring; optional foliar treatment of 2 qt/acre 10-15 days after cutting.

Soybeans

  • Rate: At planting, apply 1 qt in-row/banded, or broadcast 2 qt/acre.
  • Timing: For yield boost, foliar apply 2 qt/acre at flowering; a second pass 3-4 weeks later may help.

Corn

  • Rate: Apply 1 qt in-row on seed, or broadcast 1-2 qt/acre; optional side-dress 1 additional qt with 28%/32% N.
  • Timing: Five to six weeks after planting, an additional 1 qt may improve yields. For anhydrous ammonia, apply 1 qt at least two weeks later.

Many growers reduce total N to 80-90 lbs for 200-bushel corn programs.

Wheat, Milo, and Millet

  • Rate: Broadcast 1-2 qt/acre, or 1 qt/acre when drilling in-row.
  • Timing: For winter wheat, apply in early spring. For top-dress, use 2 qt/acre MycorrPlus-F (or 3 qt/acre MycorrPlus-O-F) at flag leaf.

Cotton

  • Rate: Apply 1 qt in-row, or broadcast 1-2 qt/acre. Pre-planting, apply 1-2 qt/acre in summer, fall, or winter.
  • Timing: During growth, apply 1 qt at 5-6 weeks after planting, or foliar apply 2 qt at boll set.

Do not mix with chemicals except 28% or 32% nitrogen.

Peanuts

  • Rate: At planting, apply 1 qt in-row, or broadcast 2 qt/acre. Pre-planting, apply 1-2 qt/acre in summer, fall, or winter.
  • Timing: For yield boost, foliar apply 2 qt/acre every four weeks during growth. If chemicals are used, substitute with monthly 1 qt applications.

Do not mix with chemicals except 28% or 32% nitrogen. MycorrPlus also supports nodulation, so additional inoculant is typically unnecessary.

Potatoes

  • Rate: In fall, winter, or early spring, apply 2 qt/acre to build soil. Near planting, use 1 qt in-row or broadcast 1-2 qt/acre.
  • Timing: Can also be applied after herbicide timing windows are met.

Fruit and Nut Trees

  • Rate: In fall, broadcast 1-2 qt/acre over an area twice the tree diameter.
  • Timing: In spring, once leaf coverage is established, apply one or more foliar passes at 2 qt/acre.

For larger tank mixes above 20 gal/acre, use MycorrPlus-O-F.

Grape Vines

  • Rate: Apply 2 qt/acre (or 1 oz per 600 sq ft).
  • Timing: Apply in fall or early spring; in spring, add a 2 qt/acre foliar pass.

Sod Farms

  • Rate: After harvest, apply 2 qt/acre; for continuous benefit, add 32 oz monthly.
  • Timing: Use after each sod harvest cycle.

Do not mix with herbicides, pesticides, or most fertilizers.

Blueberries and Acid-Loving Plants

  • Rate: No standard rate recommended.
  • Timing: Use caution.

MycorrPlus helps balance pH and is generally not recommended for acid-loving plants.
